Odd Error Message in Santa Clara, CA
BoingBoing has published a report from a voter in Santa Clara, California, that his voting machine displayed an odd error message when he tried to cast his vote. Here’s a picture he took with his phonecam (click to see a larger version):

I’m sure plenty of dissection of this error messsage will take place, but it strikes me that
it doesn’t specify which vote – or votes –
were not “saved": does this message refer to
one item on the current voter’s ballot, the
entire current ballot, or all ballots submitted
since some previous time (when, presumably, the “save” succeeded)?
And do the poll workers who are on-site
know that answer?
